Today we are delighted to announce we have agreed a production partnership with Endemol Shine India, allowingThe Farm to be remade locally. While The Farm has already run to over 3000 episodes in more than 50 territories worldwide, this would be the first in Asia.
The Farm is an award-winning, daily, competitive reality show that sees six men and six women living together as farmers, growing their own food and fending for themselves, without electricity, mobile phones or any other modern conveniences. Contestants are eliminated over a ten week series until one is crowned Farmer of the Year.
The Farm, originally created by Strix Sweden, has also generated celebrity and junior versions, plus a digital spin-off format, The Cabin. The Farm has been constantly on air since its initial launch in Sweden in 2001 and has run to multiple series in over 50 countries including 12 series in Sweden, 11 in Brazil and 13 in Norway – the last of which premiered this September with a 50 per cent share on TV2.
Endemol Shine India successfully produces the Indian versions of a number of international hit formats, including Big Boss (Big Brother), The Voice, So You Think You Can Dance and Deal or No Deal.
