More about Detectorists...
This award-winning, original comedy series returns for a third outing, following the lives of Andy (Mackenzie Crook, The Office) and Lance (Toby Jones, The Hunger Games) as they look to make their fortunes from finding gold in the fields of Essex. Andy has landed his dream job as an archaeologist but he’s not sure whether he likes it. And on top of that he, along with wife Becky and son Stan, has had to move in with the mother-in-law (Diana Rigg, Victoria). Lance meanwhile is dealing with a blast from the past, as well as an audacious theft that leaves him reeling. Away from the chaos at home, much of this series sees the duo working to keep their prized metal detectoring lands safe: the farm is under threat and their beloved oak tree is due to be felled. Beautifully shot in the English countryside, with eccentric characters and slow-paced storylines, Detectorists is a gentle comedy about life, relationships, hobbies and finding great joy in simple things.
