Welcome to London SE29, where a large dilapidated Victorian house is home to the extraordinary characters of Channel 4’s first home-grown animated adult soap opera, Crapston Villas.

Each episode focuses on the bizarre lives of London’s most chaotic collection of flat dwellers. The usual ingredients for a perfect soap are all here: love, laughter, loss, guilt, envy, paranoia and drunken sex, except that these characters are silicone model figures.

We witness the highs and lows of their lives in rather more gruesome detail than early evening soaps would ever dare show. Wilfully vulgar and sensationally seedy – it makes the residents of EastEnders’ Albert Square look like The Waltons
