French production group Reservoir Prod has optioned the reality format For Better or For Worse from Sweden’s Titan Television, while format Countryside Dreams (pictured) has also been optioned by an unnamed major prodco in France.
DRG secured the format options for both factual entertainment programs on behalf of Titan Television.
For Better Or For Worse follows the stories of couples who married seven years ago, to see what has happened since then, and whether they’ve remained together or split.
Countryside Dreams, meanwhile, follows four urban families who share a common goal of leaving the city for the country. Each city family has a dream business they’d like to run in the country, and the format sees them run an existing business, while the real owners take a break.
All four families road test their countryside business dream and at the end of the trial, they choose whether to move to the country permanently or head back to the city. The format originally aired on SVT in Sweden.
“France is one of Europe’s largest and most sophisticated TV territories. To have optioned not one but two formats into this competitive marketplace is a major coup,” said Lolo Westerman, Titan Television’s head of international sales and acquisitions.”We couldn’t have hoped for a better international debut for Countryside Dreams and For Better Or For Worse, which are typical of the thoughtful, engaging, real life-driven formats that are coming out of the Nordic territories.”
