DRG SECURES MULTIPLE SALES FOR SEASON 2 OF TV LAND’S ‘RETIRED AT 35’

04th July 2012

DRG today announces significant sales of the second season of ‘Retired At 35’, the highly-acclaimed US sitcom which premiered the first episode of its new season on Viacom’s TV Land last week (Tuesday 26th June).

Initial Season Two sales (10 x 30’) have been secured with Fox, Italy; MTV, Latin America; SBS Broadcasting B.V., Netherlands and Tele Munchen, Germany.

The first season of ‘Retired At 35’, was an immediate ratings winner for TV Land last year and regularly out-performed its primetime slot average.  In addition to strong international sales across Canada, Finland, Slovenia, Turkey and Africa, it was also nominated for a primetime Emmy Award.

In Season One, husband Alan Robbins (George Segal) and wife Elaine (Jessica Walter) planned to cruise into “happy-ever-after” retirement in Florida but had their lives disrupted by their overworked son David (Jonathan McClain) when he decided to move in with them.  Season Two, sees the comedy return with David dealing with his obsessive parents as well as his sister Amy (Marissa Jaret Winokur), who, while successful in business, has made less than impressive choices in her love life.

Patrick Roberts, SVP International Sales for DRG commented: “Audiences both domestically and internationally have responded brilliantly to the sharply, funny scripts and great comic acting in Season One of ‘Retired At 35’.  The addition of a new cast member and fantastic support from guest stars including Robin Givens for Season Two will help to grow this popular series into a truly global hit.”
