Celebrities and their canine companions explore the countryside
This charming new series follows a number of Britain’s favourite celebrities as they head out on a walk with their dog. In each episode we see three different famous faces enjoy a stroll along the coast, a ramble through rolling hills, or a hike up a mountain. And with them every step of the way is their faithful family pet. During each walk our celebrity stops to reflect on the landscape and also meet people who can show us something of what makes that place so special – through culture, food, history or science. Sometimes we get to meet other canines – like the Newfoundland dogs that actress Sarah Parish - and her dog Pig - comes across in the New Forest, that specialise in rescuing people from water. Sometimes there’s a chance to see some wildlife – for example, when presenter Clive Anderson and his dog Albert see the white tailed sea eagles that live on the Isle of Mull. And sometimes there’s a chance to taste the local produce – we follow comedian Julian Clary and his terrier – also called Albert - as he visits the Breaky Bottom vineyard in the South Downs. Other celebrities featured include Ben Fogle, Helen Skelton, John Nettles and Robert Lindsay. Each walk is beautifully captured on film, with remarkable drone work making sure the viewers are with the walkers every step of the way. It all comes together in an enjoyable, informative and easy to watch series that showcases the very best of Britain.
